How can I request for an urgent appointment? Will I be accommodated immediately?

You can reach us either through phone call / email & you will be accommodated & booked as soon as possible.

What do I need to bring during my scheduled appointment?

Any form of valid identification card, health insurance card and any relevant reports such as previous scan reports or blood tests reports.

Will my medical records be kept confidential private and confidential?

Maintaining privacy of your health records is of utmost important to us. Without your consent, the contents of your medical file will not be released.

Will I be able to contact Dr. Azizunnisa Shaikh directly?

We have an emergency hotline number available 24/7 and you will be directed to Dr Azizunnisa Shaikh as required.

Will medical reports / sick leave be available on hand?

Medical Report and Sick Leave Certificate (with or without attestation) can be requested any time.

Insurance coverage?

Please see "INSURANCE" for information about Health Insurance coverage.

We provide Reimbursement Forms for those insurances that are indirectly covered in our facility.

How will I be able to reimburse the cost from my Insurance Company?

Reimbursement can be done either Online (insurance website) or through submission to your company’s HR Department.

At what age, should I have my first gynecological exam?

You can visit your gynecologist any time after having your first period.

After the age of 35, yearly visit for transvaginal/ pelvic scan and PAP Smear may be required.

How early can I confirm my pregnancy?

Through Urine HCG, pregnancy may be positive 7 days after you missed your period.

Blood HCG confirms pregnancy within 6-8 days after ovulation.

Ultrasound can also be done at 6th-7th week of pregnancy.

When should I schedule my first prenatal visit?

Regular prenatal visit usually starts at 10-12 weeks of pregnancy.

Should I get the flu shot when I am pregnant?

We recommend that you get a flu shot if you are pregnant especially during flu season. It’s safe to get a flu shot even if you are in the first trimester.

Is it safe to exercise when I’m pregnant?

It is safe to exercise in moderation during pregnancy, unless your obstetrician advises against it. Some exercises can help with childbirth.

Is it safe to Air Travel when I’m pregnant?

Most airlines do not allow women to fly after 37 weeks. It is important to check with your airline before flying. It is also necessary to have a visit to your Obstetrician before planning for any travels.

Is it safe to have sex during pregnancy?

For most women, there is no medical reason not to have sex during pregnancy. Unless your pregnancy is classified as high risk or if there are other safety concerns, you and your partner can have sex without fear of harming your baby.

What medication can I safely take when I’m pregnant?

Panadol & prenatal vitamins, which are now available without a prescription, are safe to take during pregnancy. For any other medications, vitamins, herbal remedies or supplements, check with your obstetrician.

In case of emergency or out-of-duty hour cases, how will I be accommodated?

Please call our Emergency Hotline number or you can go directly to Mediclinic City Hospital emergency department and state that you are under the care of Dr Azizunnisa Shaikh.

What should I do if I think I have vaginal infection or urinary tract infection?

Kindly report to the clinic and we will book you for High Vaginal Swab / Urine Culture & Sensitivity. Required medications will then be prescribed after results.
